ABC class "No Equipment Workout" - 18 April 07

I attended the ABC Class on "No Equipment Workout" conducted by Roel, Senior Fitness Trainer on 18 April 07. This workout targets the entire body. It is simple and easy, yet effective! The only "equipment" you will need is just your own body.

This "No Equipment Workout" is especially beneficial when I am on vacation or can't break away from the office but need an effective and quick workout that can literally be done anywhere. I certainly look forward to more of such classes held by Fitness Network in the months to come.

Beauty Workshop - 25 April 07

The ZA Essential Makeup Workshop was a good hands-on session for beginners to have a feel of what makeup is all about and to learn how to maximise it. For those who have experience with makeup, the workshop was a good refresher session with an opportunity to try out ZA's product range while having fun at it. I would definitely look out for such courses by Fitness Network in future.

Inter-Park Company Games 2007 (12 to 16 March 07)

For the first time, a week long Inter-Park Company Games was organized for tenants working in the Singapore Science Park, International Business Park and Changi Business Park. It was a week full of excitement and fun for the 365 participants who took part in the various competitions (Frisbee, Street Soccer and Road Relay).

Apart from networking among the participants, the objective of the Games was also to instill a physically active lifestyle among those working in the three parks.
Congratulations to the various winners and we look forward to more of such activities in the future.

Sports Week Archery Competition - 24 May 07

The thought of joining the archery competition was a last minute decision as many of my colleagues were involved in various work commitments. However, we still managed to put together a team and have fun outside our work environment. Our objective was to enjoy ourselves within the atmosphere of the Sports Week. Hence the thought of getting into the finals never crossed our minds since none of us have ever handled bows and arrows.

We were thrilled to be the last team to sneak into the finals by a mere 1 point difference. And imagine our exhilaration when we won the trophy for second placing in a competition consisting of 26 teams! Thanks to our very own "Legolas" who shot the winning arrow for the team. He truly deserves the title of the best archer in the competition.

Our team truly feels that Fitness Network has done a great job in organizing the various activities during the Sports Week. Such events have not only created stronger bonds among colleagues but have also provided an opportunity to get to know the teams from the other companies better.

Sports Week 3 on 3 Basketball Competition - 21 May 07

The 3-on-3 basketball competition held during the Sports Week was very well organized. Though it was challenging as there were many good teams, we all had a great time.

The game fixtures were interesting and a bit unorthodox but it injected quite a fair bit of unpredictability which makes the competition more fun and gives the weaker teams a better chance of making the finals. Having said that, I want to express a big thank you to Fitness Network for organizing the Sports Week and making it a success.

Sports Week Netball Competition - 22 May 07

The Sports Week Netball Competition offered me and my colleagues a rare opportunity to participate together as a company. And we were glad that it was held in the evening since most of us were "sun shy".

Since there was no foreknowledge of the teams, we were unfortunate to be grouped together with other stronger teams. This resulted in us meeting another strong team twice in the preliminaries. And though we lost to them on both occasions, we managed to overcome all odds to defeat them in the finals. It felt great winning the competition (as well as the good prizes!) and the gold medal and trophy certainly gave us a sense of achievement.

I understand this is the first time Fitness Network has organized a Street Netball competition. Though there were some hiccups initially, I must say it is a job well-done as the organizers were prompt in responding to the feedbacks. We will definitely look forward to more competitions organized by Fitness Network in the future.
